It’s quick and easy to sign-up to MeetYourFriends. But if you get in a jam while registering then please try the following fixes. They’ll soon have you moving.
To register just fill out your basic details (name, age, sex and email) on the sign-up form on the main page.
Cookies
If the registration form doesn’t play ball then first you should check your browser is accepting cookies.
Internet Explorer
To enable cookies in Internet Explorer, go to the menu bar of your browser, click Tools, and then select ‘Internet Options’. From here, click on ‘Privacy’, and lower the settings bar from High to Low. Alternatively, if you click on the sites button, you can simply add MeetYourFriends.com and this will solve the problem. To finish, restart your browser.
To register using Internet Explorer you may also need to delete existing cookies stored on your computer. Click on Tools from the menu bar and then select ‘Internet Options’ and ‘Delete History’. From here, you have the option to delete cookies. To finish, restart your browser.
Firefox
To enable cookies in Firefox you should go to the menu bar of your browser, select ‘Tools’ and then click ‘Options’. Choose ‘Privacy’ and on that window tick the box that says ‘Accept cookies from sites’. To delete existing cookies, simply select the ‘Tools’ menu and click ‘Clear Recent History’.

If you have trouble logging in, please double check that you’re using the correct details. Sometimes the simple solutions are the best! Do not copy and paste these details into the website from your registration email – it’s better to type them into the required fields.
Check that you have CAPS lock turned off on your computer as the password is case sensitive. Please check that your browser is accepting ‘cookies’ (see Sign-Up for details).
If you can’t remember your password, please click the “forgotten password” link on the front page.
Once you have successfully signed in, you’re free to roam the site and make friends straight away.

Making friends
MeetYourFriends buzzes with activity 24/7 and is packed with other members who want to find new friends and chat with you. To make friends online, simply go to their profile and click the star by their profile photo. Your friends list will soon fill up, and you’ll get an alert whenever they send you a new message.
If the worst comes to the worst and you want to break a connection, simply click on the same star, and the user will be moved out of your friend’s list.

Once you’re motoring on MeetYourFriends you’ll want your social circle to really take off. The best way to do this is by using ‘Search’. Hit the “online now” tab to find out who wants to talk right now. The Advanced Search function can be used to refine your friends search. It provides you with a host of options to narrow down your social hunt. Then all you need do is browse the list of matches and add more friends.

Editing your profile
Although registration is quick and easy you can add more information onto your profile later after you’ve logged on. If your profile is brimming with vivid detail then your chances of friend requests and messages will increase. Editing your profile is simple. Just add the detail into the relevant section for other users to view and click ‘Save’ at the bottom of the page.
Moderation
When you update your profile it will be checked by our team of moderators, which means your changes may not be visible for approximately 24 hours. However, you can still chat and mingle with everyone on the site as usual.
Change account information (phone number, address, email)
To change any of the personal information within your profile such as your Phone Number, Postal Address, Email Address or password, simply click on My Account, make the necessary changes and then click Save.
Change password
Please make sure that you choose a secure password, containing a mixture of lower case, UPPER CASE and numbers in your password. Your safety and security is of paramount importance.
To change your password, please visit Your Settings and Password, choose a new password, then click Save.
Number of photos
You can upload 1 thumbnail image, which is your main photo, and up to 3 additional photos, which all Members can view on your Profile. The more photos you have on your profile, the more friends you’re likely to attract. Everyone likes to see who they’re chatting with!
Problems uploading photos
All photos should be in .jpeg or .jpg format and be less than 500Kb. If the photos are not in this format or are too large, you will be unable to upload them. We recommend using Microsoft Image Editor, Microsoft Paint or Adobe Photoshop to reduce the size of the original image. If you’re using a Mac, we suggest that you use Safari to upload a photo.

What is Live Chat?
Live Chat is MeetYourFriends inbuilt instant messaging system. It allows you to chat with anyone who is online right now. To find someone to chat with, just click the Who’s Online link at the top of the page, and decide who you would like to chat with.
What is a chat invitation?
When someone wants to chat with you, an invitation will appear in the browser window. You can accept the invitation, politely refuse or block that user from contacting you again. If you would like to minimize the invitations, simply click the minimize button and they will stop being so intrusive.
Who can I chat with?
You are absolutely free to chat with anyone at all on the site, as long as they are online now!
Do I need to download anything to Live Chat?
Live should work without any need to download anything new! If you have any problems with your Live Chat, please contact us straight away.

What is MeetYourFriends Email?
This service gets everyone on MeetYourFriends interconnected even when Members aren’t online. If another Member is unavailable, you can send an email message direct to their inbox. They will see it when they next log on.
How do I send an Email message?
It’s easy to send Email on MeetYourFriends, and there are a number of ways for you to do it.
- Choose the option ‘Send Message’ on a Member’s profile.
- When you read an Email Message in your Inbox click ‘Reply’.
- Click on the small envelope symbol next to a Member’s thumbnail picture (in your search results, favorites list, inbox and sent mail folder).
- Go to the ‘Compose Mail’ option found in the ‘Mailing System’ section of your account.
Be safe when writing an email message
It’s the most effective idea to write a message in a separate text document (e.g. Microsoft Word) then copy and paste the text to the message area on MeetYourFriends. This way you won’t lose the message if you encounter problems onsite.
I can’t upload a photo to my email message
Please ensure the photo is given a new name when you attach it. You should also check that it’s in.jpg or .jpeg format and not more than 500 kbin size.
Messages are being opened without my knowledge!
If you are using any kind of download accelerator, it may be opening all the links it sees on the page. This means that it will open new letters on your behalf. Please do not use download accelerators when you are browsing MeetYourFriends.
